What is ‘Ask Photos’ on the Google Photos app?
The ‘Ask Photos’ is an experimental feature that will soon be available on Google Photos. It is supposed to make it easier for you to search for a specific memory or recall information included in your gallery.
As the Google Photos gallery grows, finding which photos you need can lead to scrolling through pages of photos and videos. This process takes time, and the app’s ‘Ask Photos’ feature is supposed to simplify it.
Basically, you need to feed Ask AI the prompts, and the tool will scan through your photo library and return results that fit your query.
For example, if you feed Ask AI the prompt ‘Show me Photos with QR Code’, it will show you all photos with a QR code. Similarly, you can feed the prompt to show you all photos with coupon codes in them. It will scan through your Photo library and show you all available options.
How to Use the Ask Photos Feature in Google Photos
The ‘Ask Photos’ feature is still experimental and not available in every country. However, it will soon be rolled out to all Android phones in the coming months.
Just make sure that you’re using the latest version of the Google Photos app on your phone. Here’s how to use the Ask Photos feature on the Google Photos app.
1. Launch the Google Photos app on your Android phone.
2. When the app opens, switch to the Ask tab at the bottom right corner. If the Ask tab is not available, the feature is not available on your account.
3. You will see a Gemini AI type chat screen. Here, you need to enter your prompt in the text field. For example, you can ask Gemini to pick the best photo from the park you’ve visited, show all pictures with your pets, etc.
4. The Gemini AI integrated into the Google Photos app will analyze your text and suggest matching photos.
5. You can tap the View All button to see all photos matching your query.
